As a fan of the new Mickey Mouse shorts, I was inspired to adapt the character and his new style to 3D. The episode Croissant de Triomphe, where Mickey is in Paris influenced me to make this scene.
The awesomest @twitte_king was more than my assistant in the making of the scene, he helped me do all the troubleshoot in animating it as well as share valuable ideas for how it would turn out. A personal project that I’ve been doing in my spare time for about a year. I have learned many new things during this time, for example, how to use Unreal Engine 5 and Substance Designer. Also I repeated the basics of 3D pipeline I learned at XYZ School.
Most importantly, I managed to convey the mood with which the people of the post-Soviet space are picking berries. An old but reliable grandfather’s scooter, a couple of buckets and a good tovarisch nearby – everything you need for a “quiet hunt”.
For the terrain I used the “Simple grass chunks” by 3dhdscan and the “Grassy Ground” texture by Game Textures.
