Hallucigenia is a genus of Cambrian xenusiids known from articulated fossils in Burgess Shale-type deposits in Canada and China, and from isolated spines around the world. Its quirky name reflects its unusual appearance and eccentric history of study; when it was erected as a genus, the animal was reconstructed upside down and back to front. Hallucigenia is now recognized as a “lobopodian worm". author – Eugene Makhnev Галлюцигении (лат. An ancient Egyptian standing figure of the god Bes from the Roman Period (30BC - 395AD) from the collection of Bolton Library and Museum Services. Bes is shown with legs apart, hands on hips and leonine mane and ears. On top of his head is a five plumed headdress.
The figurine was excavated by B.P. Grenfell at Oxyrhynchus and donated to the Bolton Library and Museum Services Collection by the Egypt Exploration Fund.
