This is my attempt at the 13mm Jackal from Hellsing! I always loved the weapons in this anime! They are all so over the top! I took so long to make this because I couldn't find any consitent references, even from the anime! The model used in 3D portions of the anime seems to stay the same, but in most of the drawn scenes, the gun changes. At the time of modeling the Casull I didn't feel confident enough to “Fill in the gaps" for areas that didn't make sense given the inconsistent references but I think I was able to do a good job on it now! Textures are PBR and come in 4096, 2048, 1024, and 512. The “Final.zip" contins the last version of the Blender file I made this in. Seeing as how the next gen of gaming is basically here, I went ahead and modeled in some parts I normally would have normal mapped. After spending some time studying the models in Cyberpunk 2077, I feel pretty good about this polycount for a “next gen" model. Worked on this for about 24 hours, replicating a creature design (the Jackalope) created by Sarah Gil (original design can be viewed here).
Worked almost solely in zBrush, but made a few visits to Cinema to make some of the items that were supposed to be stringed up in thin air (for example the handlers). I also polypainted it in zBrush, aiming for a handpainted look.

This is my own recreation of the 454 Casull from Hellsing! The form overall is fairly simple, but I had some difficulty with this mostly from the dificulty in finding consistent references, even with official art from both the OVA and original series of Hellsing and snipits from the Manga, this gun has a lot of subtle inconsistencies. One such inconsistency is the squareness of the slide. I had seen official art where the slide takes on a shape more similar to a 1911 pistol, but in other art and in the OVA, the slide appears more square and in some cases even appears to have plates on the side and top. So some details I tried going for a middle ground of the differences I had come across.
Fairly happy with how this came out, I feel it’s fairly accurate, or at least as accurate as I can get considering the inconsistent source materials lol
