A sci-fi holographic computer I made that is loosely based off the IBM 5100. Originally created for Second Life, shown here in Metalness PBR. Textured in Quixel Suite and Photoshop, modeled in Blender with the HardOps plugin.
The hologram is static for now, it normally has an animation (in other engines) but I am still trying to figure out a good way to have both a smooth interpolated rotation of the rings on the bottom and a hard transition of frames on the main screen (only way I can currently think of is to use the frame-by-frame method here but that would require way too much mesh data for smooth rotation). This is just a fun model I made to practice my skills. The whip cream was something new for me. I made it using converted bezier curves in blender. It added quite a lot of polys but it looks good! I haven’t tried to tackle the caramel yet. I think the easiest way to do it would be a freeze frame of a fluid simulation, but I have never done anything like that before, so I’m leaving it for another time. I didn’t spend hardly anytime texturing so feel free to download, edit and use how you like. If you end up adding the caramel please let me know how you achieved it.
