Game/VR/AR-ready low-poly model of a precast dirty concrete pipe with 4K PBR-textures that is built to real-world scale (metric system). Precast concrete elements are used extensively in the construction business and models such as this one are useful when designing urban areas, especially when creating ruined settings. The model and PBR-textures are prepared for use with Unity and Unreal Engine, but can easily be adapted to other game engines, or for other uses. The model was created using Blender and Substance Painter. The zip-file “Dirty concrete pipe.zip” contains all the textures as png-files (8 bits), as well as the model in the following formats: FBX 7.4 (.fbx) OBJ 3.0 (.obj and .mtl) Collada 1.4.1 (.dae) Blender 4.0.2 (.blend) The zip-file also includes fbx-versions of the model and textures specially made for use with Unreal Engine and Unity. A model of a jeweller’s piercing saw, typically using for cutting out fine intricate work in conjunction with something called a bench pin. The blades are typically very thin and formed into a spiral which enables them to cut in any direction. From my experience of using one they also break… a lot. :P I guess they would be the hand-powered equivalent of a scroll saw.

At a strip mall across town is this concrete Statue of Liberty. I’ve driven by it for years. I decided to do a quick and dirty model of it. By the time I got to the strip mall, the sun was close to setting and I had to hurry.
As you can see, South Dakota seasons are hard on decorative concrete sculptures like this one. The agragate under the surface of the concrete is starting to show in places where the concrete has worn away. The protective paint is patchy giving moisture more places to penetrate and wear down the concrete.
This model is just the latest generation cast from a prototype I first saw in the 1980s when the Statue of Liberty’s centennial was approaching. Liberty fever was on the rise and someone cashed in by creating this stylized replica.
