Here are small assets of vintage books and wood bookshelves for my personal project. Given that the main character of the scene is not the typical little girl I thought it would be interesting to give her a wide variety of books that fit her personality. For the bookshelves I made two different finishes for the wood material. I am leaning more to the painted wood since it should give good contrast against the wall and also fits with the beach decor. Let me know which you prefer. This is the final version of my first 3D assignment for Howest DAE.
I had a lot of fun working on it, especially the texturing, as we were now allowed to use anything like substance painter, marmoset etc. Everything had to either be done in photoshop or maya and we could pretty much only use an albedo and some transparency. It was a challange to get the textures looking good without any roughness or normals, but I think I learned a lot from it.
