I’m proud to finally present a project I’ve been working on since 2015: A diorama scene depicting the Battle of Hoth from “Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back". My ultimate goal was to present drama and emotion through percieved detail while limiting my polycount as much as possible; Putting weight and motion into each hand-posed character to mimic the feeling one might get looking at a table with wargaming miniatures. The concept was partially inspired by the Halo 3 “Believe” ad series. Workflow: No external textures were used, only vertex color painting and some baking for PBR compatability and reduced file size. Done 100% in Blender3D. What I Learned in the Process: Getting to extensively use vertex painting was one of the most fun aspects of this project. I also gained a lot of experience in basic character modelling, and until now, I had never used Blender's rigging system. I gained so much more confidence in Cycles materials, and particle effects as well. woah this model is three years old now! I created this in my first year of uni using Maya and I can 100% say I prefer using ZBrush for organic assets. So, I’m planning to do a remake of this scene in ZBrush and will link it here when done!

This is a very simple scene including everything that I made for my most recent project: Medieval Village. My task was to make the tailor shop which I created to be very poor looking and also included a little sassy drawing of him on the front of the house to show his personality. The main plinth got a market with some materials, there is a pumpkin patch in the back that was not made for the tailor himself but something for the entire village to use. Then there is a tiny island with some underwear and clothes to dry.
