I’ve been working on a game with my team (Cotton Cloud Productions) called The Chopping Block. It is a horror theme and we wanted to have some distinctive rooms within the level, I thought a creepy painting would help add to the spookiness of the game (especially since it will disappear and reappear in another room with creepy laughter). I created the model, UV’s, and texture art. This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve done so far. Upper portion of a limestone statue of Thutmose III from Deir el-Bahri displayed in the Cairo Museum. The torso of the statue without the face was found in the early 20th century and now is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The face was found during excavations at Deir el-Bahri by the Polish Expedition in the 1960s and is in the Cairo Museum collections. Casts were made of each poriton of the statue and exchanged between the institutions. Today the original face and cast of the torso can be seen in Cairo and the original torso and cast of the face can be seen in New York.
Created from 113 images (Canon EOS Rebel T7i) using Metashape 1.7.5. Access to the back of the statue was difficult and repairs to the reconstructed mesh were made in Blender 2.92.
