So this is a little experiment I’ve been contemplating on, inspired by the food assets in Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy 15.
I took photographs of an actual meal I cooked, and spliced them in Substance Painter with a few models I specially built from reference.
Nasi Lemak is a traditional Indonesian/Malaysian dish, consisting of spiced rice, coconut milk/shavings, a portion of meat (chicken) and fresh prawns, sometimes accompanied by a fried egg.
The hardest part was translating the lighting from Substance Painter to Unreal Engine, and I have recreated it as best as I can here in sketchfab.

I really wanted to make an asset related to Skyrim, but it became something bigger. Except for my Vtuber avatar this is the longest of my projects, made with Blender and Substance Painter.
