Painted this little guy as my submission for the allegorithmic's “MEET MAT: THE 2017 SUBSTANCE 3D PAINTING CONTEST" He is a little lighthouse keeper, (well, he is actually a lighthouse). This is a model I designed of an old black and white lighthouse I created with an aluminum red roof. I created this using Blender, Substance Painter, Substance Designer and Photoshop. I love the ocean and this was my homage to the frontier of the sea. It is very detailed and took many hours to paint and model. I wanted to capture the essence of some old lighthouses I’ve seen over the years. I didn’t want to replicate any exact one, but rather make my own interpretation. I hope you enjoy! This is another personal project I completed as part of a series of environment pieces I’ve been aiming to interconnect in a game engine. I wanted to focus on modular asset development to prep for larger projects in the future. I also got to try out some excellent terrain brushes that I recently purchased for ZBrush. I went for an aged Lighthouse as it appealed more to my style/sensibilities (clean is boring).
