Copy of a Greek statue of the second half of the 4th century B.C. attributed to Lysippos. In the statue, the Greek hero Herakles was shown close to exhaustion on completion of the twelve labors set him by Eurystheus, ruler of the Argolid. The contrast between his powerful physique and his weary stance is echoed in this particularly fine rendition of his noble head, which is bowed with fatigue. On the surface of the metal inside the border are overlaid two very stylised peacocks and two short-legged animals that might be mongooses. This building is located in Tbilisi at the top of the Digomi Hills. It used to be a water tank, but in the late 1980s the tank was remodeled and there were plans to open an archaeology museum in it. Unfortunately, the museum was never opened. The building has stood empty and semi-abandoned ever since.
