This was my summer project before starting second year at DMU Game Art, although due to some module mix up, I spent about 3 weeks revisiting it on and off. The brief was to make a 10m x 10m realistic-style castaway island, using substance painter to texture. I originally planned to do a pirate-themed island and made extra props, but realised that they just didn’t work at all with the scene. Instead I’ve kept it very basic and natural. I always wanted to do a GW2 fanart since I’m basically playing on a daily basis for 4 years now with only short cycles of interruption.
Though it didn’t make it to the finale I’m still happy how it turned out and all of the other entries look so amazing, it’s well deserved! ;)
