This was a two week project to build a steampunk railgun with working parts at a mid poly count instead of my usual low poly. I used an 1876 Winchester rifle as a base and built the magnetic acceleration components around it. The coils are powerd up by turning the rotating capacitor to full capacitance with the lever. Kimber Custom Tactical Law Enforcement Rail II (TLE/RL II). This is the same handgun that’s used by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Special Weapons and Tactics team, which entered service from 2002 to present. Since around the 2010s, LAPD SWAT has upgraded their Kimbers to have a picatinny rail frame, which allowed the mounting of flashlights.
