With the demolition of the Sixth Street Bridge (or Viaduct) in November of 2016, an iconic part of Los Angeles faded into history. The bridge has appeared in numerous films, television shows, music videos and video games since its opening in 1932. Hollywood films include Grease (1978), Repo Man (1984), Terminator 2 (1991), In Time (2011), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012) among others.

A simple stylized fantasy tree. I really like how it turned out! In the future, I think I’ll join the leaves on the tree to the actual tree model, and potentially fill it in more than I have. I tried to stick to simple colours, and give it a bit more texture than just being flat, while still keeping the look. I’ve always been a sucker for glowing mushrooms. Or glowing anything.
Modeled in Blender and textured in Substance Painter.
