Hidden in the depths of an ancient temple, based out into the vast san dunes, there lies the treasure of the sands. Just a quick prop I decided to create to help get my creative juices flowing again. Its been a year since my last post after getting an amazing reaction I kinda fell into what some call “an artist block”. I made this model as a request from a person for 3d printing. I was given full freedom on making style for this model. The design was made like this to be more suitable for printing. I like this model, I think it looks super cute, and colors make it look like a candy. It’s a high-poly model which consists out of 17K triangles, cause I wanted to be as smooth as possible. Bilbo’s Pantry is inspired by the Bag End Pantry concept created by the amazing John Howe. That concept, along with the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, motivated me to create this scene. I wanted to get back to some stylized, hand painted textures and created this scene with that goal in mind. The pantry scene is low poly and utilizes diffuse and specular maps only. Tolkien’s works have been a big part of my life and I really enjoyed working on this piece. Frug was a little guy I doodled whilst on holiday. I decided to make him in 3D before I go back to start my second year at Uni as part of practise with characters. I used ZBrush, Maya, Substance Painter and Photoshop. This was my first time using ZBrushes ZSphere rigging tools to pose him as he was originally sculpted in A Pose.
