This is a carving found in the Ta Prohm temple in Cambodia that bears a striking resemblance to a Stegosaurus type dinosaur. Ta Prohm temple was built about the late 12th and early 13th centuries (1186) by King Jayavarman VII.
This naturally brings up the question, “How would an artist only a thousand years ago know what a stegosaurus looked like, unless he had seen one alive or was told what it looked like by someone else who had seen one alive?”
All over the world we find petroglyphs, pottery, paintings, tapestries, mosaics, and figurines of creatures that look strikingly like dinosaurs. We also find ancient stories from all over the world of humans interacting with giant reptilian creatures that sound very much like dinosaurs. Where did all these stories and artwork come from? Could it be that dinosaurs were still alive only a few centuries ago and humans still encountered them occassionally?

Another 3D model of a Pokemon for my older brother, and this will be the last one I do for the rest of the year because I want to do other projects that are more in line with my interests. However, I’ll continue to dedicate to him every year at least one 3D model of something from his favorite franchise.
As with Piplup, Pikachu’s textures were made from scratch in GIMP, but this time the character is a full 3D figure, unsegmented, so this is one of my first more or less advanced Rigging works along the way that I had done previously.
This project was also a revelation for me, as it made me think that the style of my next 3D models would have a more cartoon or anime style, even though that is not reflected here.

This is a tribute to the English poet/painter William Blake (1757-1827) and his famous The Great Red Dragon and the Woman Clothed in Sun (1805-1810).
Blake was commissioned to create over a hundred paintings intended to illustrate books of the Bible, and the painting is one of the 4 depicting ‘The Great Red Dragon’ in various scenes from the Book of Revelation.
“And behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth.” - (Rev. 12:3-4, KJV)
Modeling wise I took a half measure to push the depth, sculpted the overlapping details, but left the backside incomplete.
The Initial animation was done in 2015 only made the devil’s wings spread out, and in 2017 I added addition animation for the lady to react in fear.
