Adenosine diphosphate (ADP) is the precursor to ATP and is composed of a nitrogenous base (adenine), a sugar (ribose), and two inorganic phosphates.
Oxidative phosphorylation, the most productive generator of ATP in cellular respiration, takes place in the inner membrane of the mitochondrion. ATP is synthesized through the phosphorylation of ADP by Complex V (ATP synthase) of the electron transport chain (ETC).

Description: This model represents a floater specimen with stacked blocky Vanadinite crystals (short-prismatic hexagonal crystals). The cluster is nearly equant (1 cm across), doubly-terminated, adamantine luster, and reddish to deep-orange in color. The prismatic faces are incredibly lustrous while the basal faces are a little less so.
Vanadinite is an important ore of vanadium (V) and a minor source of the lead (Pb). Vanadinite usually forms where lead minerals are oxidized (as secondary mineral), often in areas with an arid climate. It is commonly associated with the oxidation of galena.

Description: Pseudomalachite is an emerald green to dark green and blackish-green, monoclinic mineral consisting of a hydrated basic copper phosphate. It is also known as tagilite. Pseudomalachite is found in oxidized zones of copper deposits. This sample comes with radial fibrous and concentric inner structure, and reniform/botryoidal surface.
The name Pseudomalachite comes from the Greek for “false” and “malachite”, because of its similarity in appearance to the carbonate mineral malachite.
