Debonair Qiyana is a fanart skin concepted by jason 小傑. I did sculpting and modeling in Blender, textured in 3D Coat. then rigging and posing back in Blender again. This project is the most difficult project I’ve done by far due to all the new materials I’ve encountered for the first time. I learned so much during the past few months, and I am so grateful for those who helped me along the way. A ship from the ’90s Expanded Universe, the I7 Howlrunner was a small starfighter developed by Incom Corporation (the same manufacturers as the X-wing) for the Empire. Probably best-known from the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels, I stayed pretty faithful to the design, but made a couple of angles slightly more exciting and a little less boxy.
Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. I wanted to make sure my version felt Star Wars-y enough, so I textured it in an extremely similar to the style of the OT X-wings. I hope you enjoy this slightly obscure ship model!
