My entry for the February Challenge of Frontiers. Here we have a cowboy on his way to discover what lays beyond what his eyes can see in the desert.
I wanted to take a lower poly and stylized approach to this model, and make it look like a drawing rather than a 3D model. Cargo ships can also be seen as symbols of colonialism, supporting destructive resource extraction and shipping goods made with exploitative labour. They serve to remind us that many of us had our “roots” planted here by those who arrived by boat and chose to lower their anchors in unceded lands.”
