Description: Bloodstone, also known as Heliotrope, is typically a combination of two minerals: Chalcedony and Jasper. It inherits its green base color from Chalcedony, while the bright red splatters come from iron oxide inclusions (likely Hematite) within the specimen. As a member of the Chalcedony family, Bloodstone is a type of cryptocrystalline Quartz. It exhibits a conchoidal fracture and has a hardness of approximately 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale.
