A low poly Skipray Blastboat, from the Star Wars expanded universe / Legends. This older imperial ship featured a rotating wing, and in the post-OT era more often than not appeared with in rusty brown tones, often operated by bounty hunters or pirates, so I’ve included 2 different colorschemes with this one, aas well as a cockpit interior.
I followed the top view proportions and scale of the original design, but I was curious to try a more streamlined look, with the front wings better integrated into the fuselage. I made a few other changes and also swapped on a turret inspired by the imperial troop transport as seen in The Mandalorian. The old official model was called a GAT-12 Skipray Blastboat, you could think of this as a slightly more lightly armed GAT-10 design, better at atmospheric flight. Still instantly recognizable by any EU fan! This project was probably one of the more complex models I’ve done. I first worked on the handle of the saber first since that’s where all the detail resides. Throughout the modeling process, I would always forget to model a certain component after laying out UVs and textures, so I will have to go back and model it in. Death troopers were an elite variant of the Galactic Empire’s stormtroopers specializing in stealth, espionage, and lethality. Operating under Imperial Intelligence, they served as a protective detachment for important Imperial officers and members of the Tarkin Initiative, as well as special assignment commandos. They wore black body armor suits and specialized helmets with voice scramblers, micro-motion sensors and heads-up displays with data on enemy and friendly positions on the battlefield.
