VAZ-2109 “Sputnik" (colloquially. the name “devyatka") is a Soviet and Russian front—wheel drive car of the II group of small class with a hatchback type body. It was developed and mass-produced at the Volga Automobile Plant in 1987-2004. From 2004 to the end of 2011, the VAZ-21093 variant was assembled from machine kits in Ukraine at the ZAZ plant.
