Hi all! This is a project I've been working on for around a week and a half. I was set a project by my University to create a “well" in any style. I've always loved how stylized/hand-painted assets look in games such as World of Warcraft, League of Legends etc. So I wanted to take it upon myself to attempt this style. I'm overall happy with the final design, although if I were to spend more time on it, there are a few things I would refine. I took the original artwork by Peyo (the Smurfs creator) and adapted to a 3D environment.
It was very fun to work with this art.
I tried to keep the artistic aspect (kind of handpaint with watercolor and paint brushes) with a low poly count, but also give a personal touch of realism to the scene.
I just miss the fuss of the Smurfs in the scene. Maybe someday I model one smurf and duplicate a bunch of them through the village to make it more fun.
