A Samian ware platter from Falkirk, possibly associated with Camelon fort. It is 5cm high and 18cm in diameter. It was made near Lezoux in France and the maker's mark ' RIIOGENIM ‘, which translates as ‘Ritogenus’, is stamped on the inside of the base. Fine dishes such as these would have been used by the Roman officers and their families stationed in the forts along the Antonine Wall. The Antonine Wall stretched right across Scotland, from the Clyde to the Forth. Constructed around 142 AD, and occupied for only 20 years, the remains of its ramparts, steep ditches, forts and bathhouses are still visible today. Since 2008, it has been part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire World Heritage Site. The model has been generated from a 3D scan of the real Helmet by using 100 photos.
The engravings on the upper part of the helmet have the same pattern of the ones shown on Philip’s armor in the famous painting, the helmet might have been part of that armor set. (Check the picture below)
The mesh shown here is the lowpoly version with baked Normal and Roughness maps from the highpoly one.
