The crystal in the sword is a piece of the ice from the heart of Icy Veins deeps. It’s the coldest known thing in the world. Only royal family of the Kingdom is allowed to touch and use it, otherwise it causes an instant freeze and painful death. There are other 2 weapons with the same message which is to protect the world’s ice and the kingdom to keep balance between the elements in the world.
