Sea Monkey was my entry to the Meet Mat 2 Substance Painting contest. I'm not sure what other sea monkeys you might know, but this one is the bravest of them all. I had a lot of fun texturing this exclusively in Substance Painter, as it was a great way to explore displacement + IRAY rendering. I also embraced the power of Painter's anchor system, which made late revisions a breeze- I can't work without them now. An attic scene I’ve been working as a side project. I wanted to do something simple and not too cluttered, so I wouldn’t have to worry about filling up space. The goal was to invest more time into working on textures and materials, and try to capture a certain mood and atmosphere with the help of lighting. As the story goes, Samson fought and defeated a young lion, later finding bees and honey in its body.
