Si tratta dei più antichi cordofoni di cui si abbia testimonianza.
Gli strumenti, ricostruiti, sono conservati in tre diversi musei, il museo nazionale iracheno di Baghdad, il British Museum di Londra e lo University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.
