Based on Jeff Chen's ‘Axel the Axe' concept: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/ExNav Process: 1 layer, 1 brush (mostly) and a lot of colour picking. This project really helped to teach me how to loosen up when painting as well as how to choose good colours. I tried to stay as close as possible to the original concept, but I did deviate when I found interesting shapes during the painting process and wanted to keep them. This mighty weapon was baked in the fires of Svartalfheim (substancepainter) with a high and a lowpoly made by the dwarfs brokkr and eitri (maya) and a detailed map (uv) that was haded down for generations (3dcoat)
