One month assignment. The goal was to make a next-gen character, ready to be implemented into a game. I really wanted to make a scifi character in his combat suit. I was inspired by Star Citizen, but Halo’s designs are really the best ones for this. For the process, at first I made the lowpoly model in Maya, then I went to Zbrush to subdivide it and put all the details needed with my own alphas. I baked the highpoly model in susbtance painter, and then I tried to make several smart materials to texture the whole character. I also did 2 different camos, because I needed a character that could fit in my upcoming space station project. I also rigged my character with my own auto-rig, therefore I was able to put it in several poses. And finally, for the rendered pictures, I used marmoset 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 52158 polygons.

This is a Ray Gun I made for my class at Edinburgh College. We were asked to produce a weapon with a Retro-Futuristic style.
After initially completing the Gold Variant, I decided to create an additional skin with a different colour scheme. I had a lot of fun creating this small & self-contained piece. I hope to continue expanding upon and improving it in the near-future.
Mesh was created with Blender 2.79.
Marmoset Toolbag 3.04 and Substance Painter 2018 were used for Baking & Texturing.
