I created this warmaul for DAE's Weaponcraft asssignment. A relic weapon designed for “The Scarlet Crusade", a fanatical religious sect on a grand quest to rid Azeroth of the Undead Scourge up in former Lordaeron. It never had the possibility to shine its brightest light due all the corruption from within. The Scarlet Crusade always interested me in the time I played WoW, but never did I invest in their lore as much. Doing a deep dive I discovered about this lad Saidan Dathoran who was their “Grand Crusader" before being corrupted by this dreadlord. I did not expect this one to drag so long as in the beginning I was merely remaking the miniature version.
I have to design the whole thing from the ground up, from the size of the barrel, its bullet all the way to how the magazine can actually insert into the gun.
I stick the design as closely to the miniature as possible and spend most of my time figuring out the mechanic.
4K texture and 2 versions. One slightly wider to look more akin to the miniature.
