This was created as part of Ashleigh Warners' ‘Creating Stylized Game Assets' course available through CGMA. I completed my first draft last November, but I went back over it and made as many changes as possible to get it to a place I felt confident in sharing. This is MEEPO, or the Mega Express Espresso Processing Operator 3000. The initial idea was to have this retro-futuristic coffee-station diorama that sold a particular kind of mundane story (even if it was in a sort of space-setting). Either way, this is my first fully-completed hand-painted project and I couldn't be happier! It was created through a mix of Blender, 3Ds Max, 3D Coat, Substance Painter and Photoshop! I created this warmaul for DAE’s Weaponcraft asssignment.
A relic weapon designed for “The Scarlet Crusade”, a fanatical religious sect on a grand quest to rid Azeroth of the Undead Scourge up in former Lordaeron. It never had the possibility to shine its brightest light due all the corruption from within.
The Scarlet Crusade always interested me in the time I played WoW, but never did I invest in their lore as much. Doing a deep dive I discovered about this lad Saidan Dathoran who was their “Grand Crusader” before being corrupted by this dreadlord. The weapon they portrayed Dathoran with looked like a big rock on a stick, so I thought I’d design something a bit more worthy for a “Grand Crusader”.
