This cast iron waffle maker was made from a pattern used by multiple foundries in the 1800s and has no maker's marks on it, making it impossible to know exactly who made it. It is believed, however, given where the artifact is from, that this particular waffle iron was manufactured by the Terstegge, Gohman & Co. foundry in New Albany, Indiana. This foundry also produced Anchor Stoves & Ranges. Again, there is absolutely no way to know for sure who made it — it's only an educated guess. This waffle iron produces waffles with a playing cards pattern — hearts, diamonds, etc. This was an extremely popular waffle iron pattern at the time. This artifact is housed at New Albany's Culbertson Mansion State Historic Site and was digitized using photogrammetry.
