A battle diorama based on the anime series “Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury”. Specifically the battle is based on the battle simulation between the students of Earth House and Grassley House from episode 9 of the anime. The Mobile suits on display inlcude: XVX-016 Gundam Aerial, CFK-029 Michaelis and the CEK-077 Beguir-Pente.
The models are rigged and optimized for real time rendering. The Farsia Gundam is an x-Rounder Vagan Mobile Suit , however not everything is as it seems with its pilot Yurin L’ciel at a depper glance. This very Mobile Suit was built with the intent to harness an X-rounder’s ability without the need of direct control of the suit itself with a fairly limited amount of piloting experience as well.
Overall, the suit has quite the unique design with its prominently feminine appearance and a complete lack of a transformation mode, instead it utilizes a auxilliary propulsion system in conjunction with remote-controlled Farsia Bits to execute ranged combat against its foes in adition to a beam cannon on its chest as well as a detachable Farsia Sword for closer encounters.
Overall this project was a nice but fairly challenging mix between hard-surface and organic-modeling techniques, I also figured I could try and make something more stylized this time.
