My entry for the Sketchfab/3D-Coat challenge themed ‘Robot Animals'. This model is based on an older, non-robotic version I made several years ago. Had a lot of fun creating it and 3D-Coat is the best application for PBR texturing in 3D I've used so far! Woop woop, made the first place! Decided to go wayyy out of my comfort zone with a fully handpainted model… and I’m pretty happy with it! The process took me much longer than expected, too, but better late then never hah.
I was obviously inspired by Zelda, so I wanted to make it a small contribution to that as well. And it was a good wood painting exercise!
Credits to rommalart for the model and Jasmin for the retopo! I did edit the UVs to fit my own work flow a bit better.
