Coffin of the Pharaoh Akenaten in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. This coffin was recovered from a tomb in the Valley of the Kings in what has been designated Tomb KV55. The tomb was discovered by Edward R. Ayrton in 1907 while working for the wealthy American Theodore M. Davis. The tomb has been controversial since it's discovery, originally being designated the burial of Queen Tiye. It has now been shown through DNA analysis that the remains found in the tomb are those of Akenaten himself. The DNA has further demonstrated that Akhenaten was the father of Tutankhamen (King Tut). The face of the coffin and the name in the cartouche have been deliberately removed in an attempt to condemn the “heretic” pharaoh in the afterlife and erase his memory. As I am a huge fan of cultural heritage and ancient relics, I decided to create a full body visualisation of Neferteti with Metahuman and Unreal 5. While working on that, it came to my mind remake the well known bust with focus on the clothing, since the bodymesh wasn’t created by me. But I created all the accessoires and clothes, using Cinema 4D, Blender, Zbrush and Substance Painter.

This is a bust of Nefertiti from Assassin’s Creed Origins DLC “The Curse of the Pharaohs”. I’ve made it in two weeks as pressure test for the academy end of the 2nd year project.
Nefertiti’s face fidelity and bands around the body were the main challenges I had to face. I took references from the iconic Nefertiti bust from Egyptian Museum of Berlin, in order to replicate the exact face and crowned head shapes.
Since academy contest was about Aliens Vs Undeads, I turned her face in a limestone piece as suggested from the official AC Origins DLC cover instead of her golden mask just like appears in the game.
I learned a lot from this exercise and understood where I have to improve for the next challenges. Any type of suggestion and/or critique are appreciated!

The innermost coffin of three of Yuya from his tomb in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings (KV46). The tomb was discovered in 1905 by James Quibell and contained the partially looted burials of Yuya and his wife Thuya of the 18th Dynasty. Created from 177 photographs (Canon EOS Rebel T5i) using Metashape 1.5.5. The base of the coffin was unavailable for scanning and has been reconstructed using Meshmixer 3.5 with texture touched up using Blender 2.8 Texture Painting. Padimut was a priest and metal engraver in the Temple of Amun-Re at Thebes. This case is in two pieces today because it was cut open lengthwise upon discovery. The linen visible between the top and bottom pieces is modern.
Ancient embalmers inserted Padimut’s mummified body into the case through an opening in the back. The opening was then laced up with cords and sealed with a coating of plaster.
