Decided to go wayyy out of my comfort zone with a fully handpainted model… and I’m pretty happy with it! The process took me much longer than expected, too, but better late then never hah.
I was obviously inspired by Zelda, so I wanted to make it a small contribution to that as well. And it was a good wood painting exercise!
Credits to rommalart for the model and Jasmin for the retopo! I did edit the UVs to fit my own work flow a bit better.

This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well. This is a model I made for fun and for a portfolio piece. I wanted to push skills, push design, try some new game modeling techniques I had been testing, and to express the glamour of dark temptations.
