Limestone stela of Intef, son of Ka: Intef is shown standing, receiving an offering from a small male figure who stands in front of him; the positioning of this figure and the scale are very characteristic of the First Intermediate Period. Behind Intef are three female figures, all referred to as his wives, named Mery, Iutu, and Iru. The principal text of the stela, which runs horizontally at the top and then continues vertically at the right side and then in front of the lower parts of the principal figures, is a mixture of offering formulas, important historical information, and phrases that form parts of standard idealized biographical texts. I uploaded the sword alone previously and planned to upload its sheath separately, but eventually decided put them together so it can have a complete showcase as a set. Both high res model and all the details made in Zbrush, painted the texture in substance painter. The animal on the sheath at first was just flat shapes with no details on it, and I thought I finished the model. Later on I looked at it again and again, eventually decided I should add more details and to make the animal figures more alive and to give them more characters, since this was a sword made for Paraoh’s battles, it just has to have that spirit. Painting the texture was another challenge since there are just so many details on the original antique. Made this piece with a heart of awe, and it was a great learning experience!
