Indonesian SS1600 class, later renamed as CC50 CC50 steam locomotive is the sixth generation Mallet type locomotive operating in Indonesia. This locomotive was purchased by the Staats Spoorwegen (SS) railway company of 30 from two different factories. 14 CC50 locomotives purchased from Werkspoor (Dutch) and 16 CC50 locomotives purchased from SLM / Schweizerische Lokomotiv und Maschinenfabrik Winterthur (Switzerland) factory. CC50 locomotive was imported in 1927 - 1928. Of the 30 CC50 locomotives, currently 3 units are CC50 01, CC50 22 and CC50 29 locomotives. CC50 01 locomotive is on display at Museum Transportasi, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (Jakarta). CC50 22 locomotive is on display at Utrecht Museum (Netherlands). I had a job where I had to make a replica of the Heisler Locomotive train from back in the 1920’s, which was an innovative design for a train engine at the time. The engine was designed in a way to have the two cylinders both at a 45 degree angle from each other.
This train was to be built in Blender, and then transferred to the Unity game engine. I built the train in a low polygon fashion (50,000+ triangles), baked the bump map, and also rigged the wheels and transmission, to rotate with only the action of one bone.
For the materials, I created a material ID for the train, and pulled the model into Substance Painter to keep all of the textures in one full map, so that when you import the train to Unity, you will only have to worry about one batch of maps, rather than dealing with many more.

This is actually a remake of a model that was featured in one of the levels I created for No More Room in Hell, quirky details preserved. At the time I was not able to actually create 3d models properly and found a way to circumvent it by using Propper - an addon that allows one to create a Source Engine model using only the Hammer Editor.
