Tried out a new workflow with this piece, which is starting off with a base mesh in Zbrush, sculpt all details, bake the Diffuse and AO in Substance Painter, add Color Gradients to the Diffuse and use that as a base for my Handpainted texture! I learned a lot in the process in regards to zBrush and polishing my Handpainted skills when its about metal and cloth. But I also realised that I end up changing things up a lot in the final stage, which means I still rely a lot on my handpainting! Sufficiently detailed and should work fine as a background prop. All parts can be separated (at least in Blender). No welds.
8K image maps. Main parts are joined/grouped. Pivoted and parented limbs. The foot rods need to be put in place after an ancle roll. Constrains must be added if needed. Neck is not rigged, but should be easy to do for a slight bend of the tube. Hope you like it.
You can rig the neck with let’s say 4 bones. Then you avoid intersections of the tube’s ridges when bending.
