Fanart of the P-996 Lazer featured in Rockstar Games’ GTA V.
I modeled this from the ground up to be a mix between the Lazer’s more quirky elements such as the perculiar placement of the airbrakes and the F-16’s characterisic shape and details such as the bubble canopy. The Model was built and animated in Blender while the textures were made using GIMP.

During the process I used Zbrush for the blocking, 3Ds max for the UVs and some of the modeling, Substance Painter for baking and first texture pass, 3D coat for retopo and final texture painting and Photoshop for final texture polish.

The goal of this model was to practice using marmoset and quixel to make an asset similiar to one existing in a game to test my abilities, i chose to model the drilldozer (doretta) from Deep Rock Galactic. The game has a low-poly aesthetic and i wanted to try to make a more photoreal version and had to make some adjustments to the design to fit the change. This prop is a redisgned water gun inspired by firefighters. The design is also remarkably similar to flamethrowers. I was inspired to make it an Overwatch weapon, but realistic. I imagined a character that used a WWII style flamethrower, but modernized of course.
I went a little far with the initial blockout and moving straight into the highres was a lot of cleanup work. I ended up making more fluid straps so the model was more dynamic. I struggled with cleanup when trying to make the game res, but in the end it got where it needed to be. I’m happy with how the floating geometry baked. The textures needed to feel like propane tanks or fire extinguishers. I got some great feedback to fix the contrast and realism, I’m very happy with where this has gone so far. After some minor texture polish in the metal map and roughness this project is in it’s final stage 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 26371 polygons.

A personal project I started in September that got pushed back due to university work. After finishing the game I knew I had to make something for my portfolio to show praise as I am one of the few people with the controversial opinion that the game is a masterpiece, ultimately becoming my favourite game I’ve ever played. I’m a huge fan of Joel and Ellie and I was very invested in the continuation of their story.
I chose to model the guitar that Joel gives to Ellie as I felt that it was a physical embodiment of their relationship which is my favorite thing about the games. It’s also different to a lot of my other portfolio pieces as I tend to model weapons.
I found this piece quite challenging as the sunburst pattern on the body of the guitar took some time to get right as I had not done too much hand painted texturing within Substance Painter but I am very happy with the results. The model was created in 3DS Max and textured in Substance Painter with textures exported in 2k quality 3D Model is ready to download for free, this model contains 17924 polygons.
