Aragonese Castle (Italian: Castello Aragonese) is a medieval castle next to Ischia (one of the Phlegraean Islands), at the northern end of the Gulf of Naples, Italy.[1] The castle stands on a volcanic rocky islet that connects to the larger island of Ischia by a causeway (Ponte Aragonese).
The castle was built by Hiero I of Syracuse in 474 BC. At the same time, two towers were built to control enemy fleets’ movements. The rock was then occupied by Parthenopeans (the ancient inhabitants of Naples). In 326 BC the fortress was captured by Romans, and then again by the Parthenopeans. A high-poly Zbrush model ready for 3d printing The model depicts a British cavalry officer during a cavalry charge in WW1. During the first world war cavalry tactics changed with an emphasis on dismounted firepower and covering fire from the flanks, using machine guns and attached artillery to support cavalry charges. The download for this model includes the textured fbx file displayed here and an stl file ready for 3d printing - see images below. The stl file is based on a high-poly version of the model decimated for printing. I have hollowed out the model and thickened some of the very thin parts to help with printing.
