Quite possibly my longest project. So long, in fact, that I had to squeeze two projects in between to rest my eyes. But the concept is so good that I wanted to do it justice and recreate it as faithfully as I could. The most challenging bit was the grass and I was scratching my head trying to figure out how to render it. In the end I used partially transparent planes with painted texture. It isn't best suited for 3D inspection, the illusion quickly falls appart, but I learned a new technique that will help me in future projects. A little sad that that the lil mouse necromancer (Necro-mouser?) sadly didn’t make the final model, but I’ll definitely be updating this asset with him in!
Despite having a nightmare (aka losing all my texturing the night before!) I tried to work through it and still get my submission done in time, and I’m really pleased with the results! This was an area I wasn’t very confident in (sculpting especially) and so I’ve learnt tons this last week! I’m hoping to be more involved in future challenges as I enjoyed this one tons!
