The project was developed by the Leningrad State Design Institute №5 in the early 80s under the direction of B.E. Sandler for LNPO Krasnaya Zarya. In view of the presence of weak soils at the construction site, the type of foundation was of particular importance. Weight and wind load are transferred to the ground through a box-section foundation supported by 700 piles. The core of the building is the shafts of six elevators, and the structure itself is a reinforced concrete frame with external panels. The low-rise wings of the building are assembled from reinforced concrete columns and beams. The outer walls are finished with expanded clay concrete panels, into which the finishing material, Saarema dolomite, has already been installed at the factory. This model was used in a rendered photo that I submitted to the 2018 (Edit: 2019) APS Metro show in Abuquerque as part of the “Digital Photography/Special Techniques” category. Unlike my CS:GO skins, this model was actually made by me. Made in Maya, and textured in substance painter, this NEC APC computer looks very nice in my opinion due to it’s 4K screen and emissive map. Weirdly enough I don’t remember this project taking very long. The model and texturing probably only took 3 hours and was made during school. But I am typing this at 1:16AM so I dunno. Enjoy my model.
P.S. I included 2 STOS basic references for lolz as well as a motherlover one that didn’t survive the resolution of one of the materials. Sad.
Edit: I don’t know why, but this didn’t make it in to the show. I honestly don’t know why. Even if the picture sucked (it didn’t) it should’ve made it in because of how few entries in the Computer Generated Art categories there were. Oh well.
