And just as a side note: I am aware that the underside of the model and the fact that the platform is poking out from the lava does look rather unusual, however the main reason for this is because I wasn’t originally planning to upload this scene as a physical model that could be viewed from any perspective, instead, once the model was completed, I intended to take a single, static render of the scene as if it were looking through the eyes of a player, and uploading that image to my Artstation account, meaning that I wasn’t really focussing on any of the areas of the model that wouldn’t be seen within the final render. This work is based on a Sketchup-file. Unfortunately I don´t remember the name of its author. Anyway, thanks for the great model! Several years ago I converted and repaired it into a watertight STL-file. Sadly the resolution of the model is only useful for printing in small scales.
My purpose is to provide watertight STL-files for you, which can easily be modified for 3D-printing, according to your references. Therefore, most of my models are not repaired into one single shell. This may be a bit more difficult for the preparation of the build, but helps you a lot, if you want to personalize the model. E.g. if you want to seperate parts, such as wheels or to remove delicate details like wipers etc.
Before printing, please check out if you have to modify the model, depending on the favored size of your print and the requirements of your printer. I hope you enjoy it. Happy printing!
