The Leshan Giant Buddha is a 71 metre tall stone statue, built between 713 and 803 (during the Tang dynasty). It is carved out of a cliff face of Cretaceous red bed sandstones that lies at the confluence of the Min River and Dadu River in the southern part of Sichuan Province in China, near the city of Leshan. The stone sculpture faces Mount Emei, with the rivers flowing below its feet. It is the largest and tallest stone Buddha statue in the world and it is by far the tallest pre-modern statue in the world. It is over 4-kilometre from the Wuyou Temple. Its was a cool 2D side scrolling beat-em-up game.
What I planned originally was a a two to three day experiment making this model, but it ended up turning into a week long project!
It was fun to make even though its not exactly the way I would like it to be. I did learned how to use mixamo and attach actions to an armature in Blender. Have a look at the animations (and please ignore the floating brass knuckles and cellphone!)
