Located on a hill overlooking the Caspian Sea and Baku’s old city centre, this trio of iconic buildings has transformed the skyline of Azerbaijan’s capital. The city’s history of fire worship, natural gas resources and recent reputation as a hotbed for technology and commerce inspired HOK’s design of these sleek, flame-shaped towers. Though similar in appearance, each tower was designed to serve a specific function. The tallest of the three structures, a 39 story residential tower, accommodates 130 luxury apartments. A 36 story hotel building on the northern corner of the site provides stunning views from 318 guestrooms. An office tower on the west of the site provides more than 350,000 square feet of commercial office space. Moszna Castle is a beautiful example of eclectic architecture located in the small village of Moszna in southwestern Poland. It was built in the 18th century, although traces of older cellars have been discovered in the gardens.
The central part of the castle is an old Baroque palace, which was partially destroyed by fire in 1896 and reconstructed in the same year by Franz Hubert von Tiele-Winckler. The height of the castle and the numerous turrets and spires give the impression of verticalism, and the whole castle contains exactly ninety-nine turrets.
