I started this as a fun little side project that I would work on when taking a break from my primary piece. For this project I wanted to try something new and different. My goal was to get more comfortable making strange shapes in Zbrush and also to become better at hand painting textures. Primarily painting in the shadow, lighting, reflections/ highlights and bounce lighting into the diffuse map. This character has 1 diffuse map, 1 Alpha map and has a emission applied using the diffuse. It has a poly count just over 4k triangles. Canon Robot that I finally got around to finishing up! Had a lot of fun with this one.
The robot’s model is 6,757 tris and makes use of one 2048 x 2048 hand-painted, self-lit diffuse map. The pedestal is 550 tris and makes use of one 1024 x 1024 diffuse map.
