Out-of-universe, the ship’s design is probably an homage to the Buck Rogers Thunderfighter, concepted by Ralph McQuarrie, who also worked on Star Wars’ fighters. The Warszawa M-20 model 200 passenger car, manufactured between 1957-60, is a version of the Warszawa M20, which itself was manufactured from 1951 on a licence from the Soviet Union but modernised by Polish designers. It has a design typical of the 1940s, with a classical drivetrain arrangement.
An inline, four-cylinder flathead petrol engine is placed at the front and is connected to a three-speed transmission that propels the rear axle via a propeller shaft. The front suspension is independent. It has a multilink design with a stabiliser bar. At the rear, a rigid axle was suspended on leaf springs. The Light Amphibious Assault Warship (LAAWS), also known as the Guadalcanal Class, is the primary ship-to-shore connector for the US Navy. Its purpose is to transport US Marines and their equipment to islands alongside larger helicopter assault ships and landing docks.
There are two variants of the LAAWS: Block I and Block II, measuring 160m and 190m in length, respectively. Block I can accommodate 100 Marines and their equipment for up to 6 weeks at sea. This model is of a little-known ship from Empire Strikes Back, a tiny distant TIE shuttle that looks like a bomber with inverted wings, which Captain Needa uses to apologize to Vader in person. This model is mostly based on Jason Eaton’s rendition of the ship in the ‘TIE Fighter Owner’s Manual,’ but with some personal tweaks such as new engines and a thin viewport into the passenger compartment. A larger transport TIE, the TIE Boarding Craft can be seen in Rogue One and Andor, this guy’s not the most spacious! Quite a bit more detailed than my TIE fighter.
4 sets of textures- one for the wings, for the body, for the interior, and for the pilot. The interior and TIE pilot textures are the same as the ones in my regular TIE fighter model. If Sketchfab supported UDIMs, everything could be in 1 material using multiple UV tiles, but for now, it’s 5 separate materials (one more to be able to dial in the glass transparency, even though it uses the body textures.)
