This is my 3D version of Anya, from the 1997 animated film “Anastasia". I have tried to be as faithful as possible to the original Don Bluth design. The body and the face was modeled and sculpt in Cinema4D and Blender. The outfit was made in Marvelous Designer. Princess Sputnik is inspired upon Mark Ryden’s enchanting painting of a little space girl.
It is my favourite of his collection “The Meat Show” http://www.markryden.com/paintings/meat/
Recently I had the unique chance of seeing some of Ryden’s best work at an exhibit near me, and meeting the artist himself!
All of his work is really special and a very encouraging opportunity to have fun adapting his work to 3D.
This little model was made using Blender and Photoshop.
The sci-fi space suit was the coolest part to do, I especially love how all the shapes combine together.
The baby was rigged then posed last to fit the tummy in its fetal position.
I kept the textures high quality 4096, drew out some of the shadows staying true to the paintings style and colours.
