This is “The Big Red Mountain” with the city of Ivins, Utah, US constantly growing northward toward its base. I did part of my growing up here. The name is funny because it’s not really big (I could climb it within a couple of hours). Plus, while being a “mountain” by definition, it’s more of a weird half-plateau. Shortly before the completion of the lighthouse in January 1881, the barque Lupatia was wrecked near the rock during foggy weather and sank, with the loss of all 16 crew members.
